I have been training Wing Chun with Rich for a number of years and at the time of writing this I am grade 11, looking to grade to 12 (Black Sash) in December 17 or Jan 18.  Rich is very patient and a good teacher, the classes are relaxed fun and he has a good group of people attending.  Wing Chun for me could be used as self-defence, or for fighting in competition, personally for me, it’s not about fighting, it’s about learning something new, a bit of discipline, a social experience, and having something to work towards, outside of the everyday work stuff.

I am writing this testimonial as someone who has 20 years martial arts experience in tae kwon do, wing chun and jui jitsu. I have trained with many instructors in many clubs over the years and I can say that Richard Holborn is the best martial arts instructor in Ely. The club is friendly with a real interest in developing the students skill. Richard puts the students first and does not see them as "rent payers" as many of the instructors in large organisations see students. Wing chun is a martial art that is suitable for all and provides effective self defence for the novice and adds effective tools for those more experienced martial artists. I whole heartedly indorse Ely wing chun and it's instructor, give it a go.
